Three different approaches

All our videos follow one of these three approaches for presenting the subject:

Concepts: Videos marked with (CONCEPTS) introduce key concepts, via a discussion format. A newcomer questions the topic expert and the expert explains the ideas by answering the questions, offering examples and using analogies. Talking heads can be pretty boring, so we include lots of diagrams, photos and other media that clearly illustrate the expert's concepts, to ensure you truly "get it".

Hints & Tips: Videos marked with (HINTS/TIPS) present a collection of hints and tips, via a demo format. Think of show and tell in school -- the topic expert shows you a completed item, then outlines the essential techniques which get you the same result. This show-and-tell demo approach allows us to cover a lot of ground quickly, without belaboring each step from a to z.

1-2-3: Videos marked with (1-2-3) allow you to precisely duplicate specific results, via a step-by-step format. The topic expert, in front of the camera, takes you through every step involved from beginning to end. A step-by-step presentation takes a lot of screen time and can sometimes get a bit tedious, so we reserve this method of presentation for learning skills where "shadowing" the expert's every move is of greatest benefit.
