NOW AVAILABLE! Downloadable model railroad videos!

We're pleased to announce we've begun offering our model railroading video content as downloadable video! You can purchase our video content chapter by chapter, starting at $1.99 each! Just think of it: inexpensive downloadable train videos ... how cool is that?

We're offering these options ...

MAKING RAILROAD VIDEO DOWNLOAD PRACTICAL

From the download times, you can see download purchases are practical if you have a Broadband internet connection. The iPod video is barely practical for dialup, and the larger video sizes not recommended if all you have is a dialup internet connection. If you absolutely insist on trying to download the larger video sizes over a dialup connection, we will be telling you how to use software that will let you do the download overnight, and will resume where you left off if you ever lose your connection.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DOWNLOADED VIDEO

Here's how we see each video format being used.

iPod video: The iPod video will play on any device capable of playing MP4 video: an iPod / iTouch / or iPhone, as well as a Sony Play Station Portable. The video will also play in Quicktime on a PC or Mac.

DVD video: The DVD standard definition video is .mp4 and will also play in Quicktime on a PC or Mac. It can also be played on an iDevice or Sony Play Station Portable and will look fantastic.

HD Video: The High Definition video is .mp4 format and will play in Quicktime on a PC or Mac.

Burning to DVD: In all cases, it's also possible to take the video content and put it onto a DVD or VCD so you can play it on your TV in your DVD player. We will be including instructions on how to take the downloadable video content and make it playable in other forms, so you get the most value from your video download purchase.

GET ONLY THE VIDEOS YOU NEED -- IMMEDIATELY

The really nice thing about making our video content available in this form is you can buy and download only the model railroad videos you need, and you get the video right away instead of having to wait a week for your order to show up.

We're excited to be offering this option for purchasing our videos, and it also makes it possible for us to do video shorts in the future and release them quickly. Waiting until we have enough video to fill a 60-100 minute DVD can mean you will wait a year or more for releases. This way, we can release the video short to you immediately for download!

Now how cool is that?

VIDEO COLLECTIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AT A DISCOUNT!

One other note, we'll also be offering downloadable video collections for a 30% discount.

This means, for example, if you want all the video segments that make up our Volume 1 - Modeling the Prototype DVD, you will be able to buy all 7 segments:

  • $9.75 in iPod format
  • $12.20 for DVD format
  • $14.65 for HD format

This is much more economical than even our discounted $24.95 price, and if you have a broadband connection, you can download and watch the video right away!

Remember we will be giving you complete instructions on how to make your own DVDs from our downloadable videos, so you will be able to save like never before with the downloadable option ... and if you have a broadband connection, you'll be able to watch the video the same day you bought it!

BURNING DOWNLOADED VIDEOS TO DVD

Our downloadable videos are all MP4 format, so will play in any player on your PC that can play MP4 video content. The most popular MP4 video player is Quicktime 7, which is available for free download here. The most popular handheld MP4 player is the Apple iPod/iTouch/iPhone.

To learn more about the MP4 video format, click here. In our opinion, the best all-around MP4 to DVD software package for a Windows-based computer is ConvertXtoDVD, which sells for $49.99.

You can also use Nero 8 Ultra ($80) or Roxio Creator 10 Suite ($80) -- but as you can see, both of these products will cost you twice as much and won't give you nearly the DVD burning options of ConvertXtoDVD.

Of course, this is for your own personal use only -- otherwise you will be violating our copyright if you make copies for your friends.
